The GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon is a beautiful, seaside course with some mild undulations, but with a maximum elevation change of only 74 feet. The course includes: All kilometres marked along the route, markers every 5 miles and at halfway for the Marathon, one-mile marker and one-mile-to-go marker. Bands and cheering stations at various locations along the route. Porta-potties at every aid station. Medical services on the route and at the finish line. Scenic features along the route: BC Legislative Buildings, Royal London Wax Museum, Ogden Point, Olympic Mountain Range, statue of Terry Fox at Mile 'O', Beacon Hill Park, Victoria Golf Course, Oak Bay Village. The race starts and finishes on the campus of Acadia University, one of the most historic and picturesque university campuses in Canada. The start line is on Main Street, directly in front of the Atlantic Theatre Festival. You will first do a short lap in downtown Wolfville, running past quaint cafes, pubs and shops, before heading west out of town toward the village of Greenwich. From there, you will then run past apple orchards, horse farms and pastoral scenery, through gently rolling terrain, as you take in the splendour of the Valley during our Autumn Harvest.

The elements of the classic big city marathons will be there, with an intimate humble, country Thanksgiving flavour.

The Grant Thornton Marathon starts at beautiful Brackley Beach in the famous Prince Edward Island National Park on the north shore of Prince Edward Island. The start line is on the west side of the Brackley Beach change facilities, and marathoners proceed to the east along the Gulf Shore Parkway towards Dalvay. The first 4 kilometers are flat (at 2 metres above sea level [masl]) and follow the north shore coastline. Marathoners will enjoy views of Prince Edward Island National Park's sand dunes and beaches and hear the crash of waves along the north shore. To the south, there will be views of Brackley and Covehead Bays. A breathtaking view of the Covehead Lighthouse and miles of sand dunes and white sandy beaches greet you as you reach the top of the bridge. Deep sea fishing boats are often seen passing under the bridge, accessing the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

There are many other highlights, including a complimentary course orientation run and awards for the best and worst costume!
